The cost question

Outsourced SDR pricing in the UK: retainer, pay-per-meeting and hybrid.

Three ways outsourced sales development is priced, what the published UK ranges are, what each model pays a provider to do, and the one number worth comparing across all of them.

Outsourced SDR services in the UK are priced in three ways: a monthly retainer for a rep or team, a fee per meeting booked, or a hybrid of a smaller retainer and a fee per qualified outcome. Published UK retainers run from a few thousand pounds a month for a light service to well into five figures for an enterprise programme. The model matters more than the headline figure, because each one pays the provider to do something different.

The three models

  1. The retainer.

A monthly fee for the rep or team, the manager, the data and the tools. Most UK providers price this way. Published ranges start around £2,500 to £4,000 a month for entry-level services and run to £7,500 to £15,000 or more for enterprise programmes; one provider’s guide puts most fully managed UK programmes between £6,000 and £12,000 a month.

  2. Pay per meeting.

A fee for each meeting booked, with little or nothing monthly. Published UK figures range from about £150 to £800 a meeting, and more for enterprise buyers. It looks low-risk, and for a narrow market with a simple offer it can be.

  3. Hybrid.

A smaller retainer plus a fee for each qualified outcome - a meeting held, or an opportunity accepted by your closer. It shares the risk and ties part of the fee to results the client actually values.

What each model pays a provider to do

A retainer pays for the work: the research, the calls nobody answers, the fourth touch, the weekly changes. A per-meeting fee pays for the meeting, which is a reason to book as many as the definition allows and a weak reason to make the calls that do not end in one. A hybrid sits between. None of these is dishonest; they are incentives, and they are worth knowing before you sign. Google’s own AI answer to “best outsourced SDR agencies UK” now warns buyers that pure pay-per-meeting can encourage low-quality meetings, which is the same point.

The costs that are not in the headline

  • Set-up or onboarding fees, commonly quoted at £3,000 to £5,000.
  • Data, charged separately by some providers at several hundred pounds a month or more.
  • Minimum terms, often six to twelve months.
  • Who owns the domains, the mailboxes and the contact data when you stop.
  • Whether the manager, the dialler and the reporting are included or extra.

The clauses to read before signing, in order, are in the outsourced SDR contract: ten things to check.

The number to compare

Cost per qualified meeting held - not booked, held, with a person who meets the criteria you agreed in writing. Divide the total monthly cost by that number and the models become comparable. One UK provider’s guide puts a first-year programme at several thousand pounds per qualified meeting, falling as the campaign learns the market, which is also why a one-month test rarely tells you much.

The comparison with hiring is on the outsourced SDR vs in-house page, and the first-year cost of a UK hire, line by line, is in how much does an SDR cost in the UK.

How we price

One agreed figure for the rep, the manager, the data and the platform, set for your market after we have seen it. We do not publish a rate card, because the honest answer depends on the market, the channel mix and one rep or a team - the things that drive it are on how it works.
