What we collect, and what we do with it.

Short, because the site does very little: analytics, and one form.

This page says what caption.wtf collects, what it is used for, and how to ask us to remove it. It is written to be read rather than to cover every eventuality; if something is not clear, email info@caption-group.com.

What the site collects

The site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to see how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they came from. It sets a cookie to tell a return visit from a new one, and sends that usage data to Google, who process it under their own terms. No advertising or retargeting scripts run, and analytics data is not linked to your name or email unless you also book a call or write to us. You can block it by rejecting cookies in your browser or with an extension such as Google’s opt-out add-on.

It is served by Netlify, which keeps ordinary web-server logs (the address a request came from, the page asked for, the time) for its own operation and security; Netlify’s handling of those logs is described in its own privacy notice.

The booking page asks for your name, your work email address and your company. When you pick a time, those three things are written to a Google Calendar belonging to Caption Group Limited, an invitation and a confirmation email are sent to the address you gave, and a Google Meet link is created for the call. Nothing else is collected, and nothing is collected until you press the button.

Before the call we look up your company and your role from public sources - your website, Companies House, news - so the fifteen minutes are spent on your market rather than on introductions. That research is done with an AI tool (Anthropic’s Claude) and stays with us.

So we know which channels work, the site notes where your visit started - the site or search engine that sent you, any campaign tag in the link, and the first page you landed on. It is held in your browser tab only and disappears when you close it; if you book a call, it is added to the calendar entry. Google Analytics also records that a booking was made, without your name or email.

If you email us, we keep the correspondence in our mailbox in the ordinary way.

What it is used for

To hold the call you booked, to follow up about it, and for nothing else. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone outside the company, and we do not add booking details to any marketing list. If we later work together, what we keep and why is set out in that agreement.

Where it is kept

Calendar entries and email live in Caption Group Limited’s Google Workspace account. Google processes that data on our behalf under its own terms. The company is incorporated in Hong Kong and works with clients in the United Kingdom; the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance applies to us, and where UK data protection law applies to you we treat your data in line with it.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@caption-group.com and we will do it within a month, usually much sooner. If you cancel a booked call, the calendar entry is removed with it.

Changes

If the site starts collecting anything beyond what is described above, this page will be updated in the same change, with the date below moved.
